The House asked us about our vision of the Hermès mirror. 

The “Miroir à courroie“ reinterprets the archetypal circular hanging mirror, offering a unique construction that celebrates the leather and glass skills of Hermès artisans. 

The leather strap is driven by its function. It envelops the mirror in a continuous movement, at one moment supporting it, at the next balancing it, and at the next protecting it. 

The mirror glass is finished in the same way as leather, with hand-painted perforations and edges in a contrasting color. 

Made together by using two straps, the elegant fluidity of the piece echoes the House’s emblematic double-tour bracelets. 

Project realized in the framework of a partnership between ECAL and Hermès in 2021.
